A City United Against Hate – National Hate Crime Conference – Bradford College & The Sophie Lancaster Foundation

To continue in our work of striving to advance equality and promote tolerance Bradford College, in collaboration with The Sophie Lancaster Foundation is organising a national conference titled

‘A City United Against Hate’ during National Hate Crime Week.

Through the use of speakers, discussions and workshops, the conference aims to raise awareness, promote debate and share good practice. The areas of focus will include:

Ø  LGBT+ issues

Ø  Race and Disability hate crimes

Ø  Islamophobia

Ø  Sexual Harassment and Violence against Women

Ø  Bullying and Cyber Bullying

Ø  Radicalisation

Ø  Behaviours and Use of Language

We are proud to announce that our keynote speakers will include:

Ø  Peter Tatchell

Ø  Jasvinder Sanghera CBE

Ø  Sylvia Lancaster OBE

The conference offers a wide range of breakout sessions demonstrating some of the best examples of policy developments, campaigns and sharing of good practice including:

Ø  Assia Hussain: Bradford College UNITED Values

Ø  Harstad University College, Norway: How Norway deals with ‘risk’ comparative approaches to the UK
